Sept 30: Series on The Hand

The Hand

I've always found hands some of the most difficult parts of the body to render on paper. The point of this series was just that: to get better at drawing hands. Above is a sample of the work done in class, using techniques to establish correct proportions, in addition to a full-scale rendering of my own hand holding a charcoal pencil.

Sept 23: Perspective

UN Building

Not being satisfied with any of my classwork, I chose to go home and redo the perspective drawing, this time choosing the United Nations building. I'm not really sure what number of point perspective I used for this drawing, because I used different ones for the different buildings. The taller-south building shares a vanishing point with the flagpoles. The south building also shares side to side vanishing points with the north (curved) building. Charcoal and graphite.
